Professional Relationship & Boundaries

Our therapeutic relationship is built on trust and designed to support your mental health and wellbeing. Clear boundaries help create an environment where we can engage in effective work together. Here’s what you can expect:

Communication Between Sessions

I can be reached through:

• SimplePractice client portal messaging (preferred)

• Email (HIPAA-compliant)

• Text messages (HIPAA-compliant on my end)

• Voicemail

I will respond to messages within 48 hours during regular business days.

Important Communication Limits

While my communication methods are HIPAA-compliant, I cannot guarantee the privacy of messages on your end (such as texts that others might see on your phone). For this reason, I recommend keeping between-session communication to a minimum and limited to scheduling concerns, business-related matters, and brief check-ins when appropriate. Complex therapeutic issues should be addressed during our scheduled sessions.

Louisiana

• Individual therapy: $125 per session

• Relationship counseling: $150 per session

• Insurance accepted (see below)

Georgia

• Individual therapy: $170 per session

• Couples therapy: $190 per session

• Private pay only — out-of-network reimbursement may be available; superbills provided upon request

If you have one of these plans, your sessions may be covered in full or in part, depending on your specific benefits. I recommend contacting your insurance company to verify your mental health coverage, including copays, deductibles, and any session limits.

Sliding Scale

I believe everyone deserves access to quality mental health care. A sliding scale fee of $75–$100 is available for clients experiencing financial hardship. Just let me know at intake and we'll figure out what works.

Scheduling & Cancellation Policy

Sessions can be scheduled through the SimplePractice Client Portal or by contacting me directly. All intake documents must be completed prior to your first appointment, including consent forms, demographic information, any required clinical questionnaires, and a payment method on file.

Life happens, and I understand that sometimes you need to reschedule. I ask for at least 24 hours' notice for cancellations or rescheduling — you're welcome to do this yourself anytime through the Client Portal. Appointments cancelled with less than 24 hours' notice, or missed without notice, carry a $75 late cancellation/no-show fee, charged directly to the card on file. As a courtesy, I waive one late cancellation/no-show fee per year.

If there's an outstanding balance on your account, it will need to be brought current before your next session can be held. If a payment plan would help, just reach out and we'll set one up.

For clients whose services are billed to Louisiana Medicaid: this fee does not apply. However, three late cancellations or no-shows within a rolling 12-month period will result in discharge from services, with referrals provided to other providers.

Payment Options

Payment is processed securely through SimplePractice and is due at the time of service. I accept Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Discover.

Emergency Procedures

I do not provide 24-hour crisis coverage or after-hours emergency services. If you are experiencing a mental health emergency, you should contact the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline at 988, call 911 or go to your nearest emergency room. Your Rights

You have the right to:

• Access your clinical records

• Request amendments to your records

• Request restrictions on the use of your information

• File a complaint about privacy practices

• Receive a copy of this privacy policy

• Revoke consent for treatment (with some exceptions)
