Your Partner in Liberation
Kimana LeMaster, LPC
I help clients who walk non-traditional paths and embrace unconventional lifestyles heal from spiritual abuse, dysfunctional relationship patterns, and self-sabotage. But here's what makes my approach different: I don't see your coping mechanisms as problems to eliminate—I see them as hidden strengths waiting to be reclaimed.
Those behaviors were the best solutions you had at the time you developed them. They kept you safe, helped you survive, and got you this far. Now we'll explore how these same powerful skills can serve your evolving goals and true self.
If you're tired of running from your past, blowing up relationships, or sacrificing your peace, it's time to reclaim your power and embody who you're meant to be.
My Background
I'm a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) and Nationally Certified Counselor (NCC) with a Master's degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Adams State University. My Bachelor's degree in World History and World Religions from Old Dominion University gives me deep understanding of the spiritual landscapes my clients navigate—both the healing and the harmful aspects.
Why I Do This Work
I was drawn to working with this population because I understand the journey firsthand. I've navigated my own healing from religious and spiritual abuse, and I'm a lesbian in a thriving 32-year marriage. I know what it's like to rebuild your sense of self after leaving harmful belief systems, and I understand the unique challenges of living authentically in a world that often doesn't celebrate difference.
Because of my own history, I have developed a deep commitment to protecting people's right to live true to themselves and engage in existential exploration. I believe that everyone deserves the freedom to question, discover, and choose their own path without fear or shame.
My Approach: Partnership in Liberation
I don't believe in one-size-fits-all therapy or in pathologizing your coping strategies. Instead, I work as your partner in discovering what healing looks like for you specifically. Together, we'll explore what no longer serves you, celebrate the brilliance of what got you through, and redirect those powerful skills toward the life you actually want to live.
You won't find judgment here—only curiosity, acceptance, and skilled support for your journey.
In our work together, your different approach to living is welcomed and valued. This is your space to be completely honest about who you are and what you need.
